Thanks to everyone for a great turn out for our inaugural SCERJ meeting on Tuesday (9/3). For next Tuesday, Sept 10 we will be discussing:
Hrepic,
Z., Zollman, D., & Rebello, S. (2007).
Comparing students’ and experts’ understanding of the content of a
lecture. Journal of Science Education and Technology,
16(3),
213-224.
The article can also be found here
This paper relates to a best-case scenario for lecturing,
where students listen to an excellent lecture on video (and can replay the
video) while they try to answer some questions that the lecture covers.
Sadly, this proves difficult. (We last read this paper in December 2008.)
We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday (9/10) @ 1p in RRC 4052.
